The fact that the National Palace Museum’s Nan Yun shipped many domestic documents because of Japan’s invasion of China and the time being secret. British “Sunday Times Magazine”, in early 1982, sent reporters to China to solicit this precious historical data. They found three scholars who were still alive and were half a century old: Nao Chih-lai (77), jade expert Wu Yuzhang (78) and Taiwanese diplomat Hang Liwu (79) These three scholars have recalled the difficult process of carrying out this arduous task in the current year and have authored the article “Vicissitudes of National Treasures in the Forbidden City”
