The non-guided crawling arc welding robot developed by the academician Pan Jiluan of Chinese Academy of Sciences has become the biggest bright spot in this Beijing-Essen Welding Show, attracting many exhibitors and professional visitors. The robot has all-position crawling ability, capable of welding tasks in a variety of locations, and is suitable for large-component welding processes such as sphere cans and shipbuilding which are still not solved yet. The project is undertaken by Nanchang University and completed in cooperation with Tsinghua University High-tech Expert Committee and Shantou High-tech Zone and Sichuan Enterprises Co., Ltd.
