The politeness principle is the principle of verbal communication established in the interactive relationship between the two parties and ultimately serves the language communication. Lekov’s politeness principle and Brown and Levinson’s “face theory” have a great explanatory and enlightening cues. The politeness principle only plays a role in specific language communication. These principles are used in the prompt language. The interpretation of the angle is not the same. This article uses the above several politeness principles and Lakoff’s metonymy to analyze the two cue words. The purpose is to deeply understand the essence of politeness principle and its active role in language research and to deeply discuss the ideology behind them.
