After the end of the Cold War, how to make full use of the favorable situation to ensure the position of the US “dominant” in international affairs in the 21st century has always been a hot topic of concern to the U.S. government and people. The Bush administration was deeply influenced by the Reagan administration during the Cold War period and emphasized strength diplomacy. It advocated using the military security strategy as a breakthrough point to maintain and enhance the status of the United States as the only “superpower” so as to get rid of the containment of other major powers. It firmly established the U.S. leadership in international affairs. Under the guidance of this diplomacy and security strategy, Bush’s Republican government has made substantial adjustments to the policies of the former Democratic Party’s government and has endeavored to promote a series of “unilateralist” policies characterized by the supremacy of its own interests. Diplomacy has obviously become tougher. Shortly after the Bush administration took office, it took an aggressive stance against Russia and China, and the United States and its European allies have also been in constant friction.
