Scott Hogg Writer James Hogg’s novel, “A Confession by Innocent Sinners,” describes the story of the protagonist Robert “Calvin Legal” captured by Calvinism. Hogg uses “double body ” Jill - Martin to show the inner fear caused by Robert’s identity and his madness and antisocial consequences caused by this identity fear. Hogg’s description of Robert’s identity reflects the social problems caused by the mobility of modern society. The fear of identity defunct caused by this modernity stems from the cognition of rural immigrants who come to the cities on their own marginalized identities and their fear of being other than themselves.
