Singapore China Friendship Association (SCFA) donated 100,000 yuan each to two rural primary schools in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to purchase teaching equipment and support pupils with financial difficulties.
Entrusted by the SCFA, the Xinjiang People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries held donation ceremonies at the two schools last December 2 and 14 respectively. Representatives of the schools and recipients spoke at the ceremonies. They expressed their gratitude for SCFA’s kind act and pledged to put the money to good use and work hard for friendship between the Chinese and Singaporean people.
Since its establishment in 1993, SCFA has organized over 30 delegations to visit China and carried out friendly exchanges with relevant Chinese provinces, regions and cities. In recent years, it has developed close contact and frequent exchanges with Xinjiang and conducted a series of practical cooperation measures in education and culture.
