Objective To investigate the relationship between the incidence of acute cerebrovascular disease and the season, temperature and age. Methods The season, air temperature and age of 1584 patients with acute cerebrovascular disease (543 cases of bleeding group and 1041 cases of ischemic group) were analyzed retrospectively. Results The bleeding rate was significantly higher in January, July and November when the temperature was lower than that of the control group (P <0.01), especially when the temperature dropped suddenly (P <0.05). In ischemic group, the incidence of the disease increased in June, July, August, September and October (P <0.01), especially in the sudden increase of temperature (P <0.05). The incidence of acute cerebrovascular disease was 87.9% at 50 to 70 years of age. Conclusion Middle-aged and over 50-year-old people are prone to acute cerebrovascular disease in winter and summer, especially when the temperature is suddenly fluctuating.
