素质教育要求教师尽快地让学生主动获取知识,解决问题。在农村初中学校,教学条件相对薄弱,学生素质又相对落后,但具体的教学任务不变,如果课堂以学生为中心,让学生自己去解决问题,势必会影响教学进程。因此,摆在农村初中科学教师面前的是,如何让规定的教学任务按期完成,又能在课堂教学中体现生本教育——即如何在有形的教学任务与无形的学生活动中保持平衡,如何做到有形与无形的教学活动收放自如。
