Two non-ionic surfactants, 22040 and 9901, formed with blocks of polyoxyethylene and polyoxypropylene, or a combination of both, SD-1 were found by room demulsification experiments. They have different anti-milk effects on natural emulsifiers in crude oils. 22040 has the best anti-emulsion effect on solid emulsifiers (muddy, acid-insoluble, asphaltene, paraffin microcrystalline, etc.) and organic base emulsifiers; 9901 has the best anti-emulsion effect on organic acid emulsifiers; SD- 1 has the advantages of both. Its anti-emulsion effect on the solid emulsifier depends on the adsorption amount and adsorption mode of the anti-emulsion molecule on the solid particles. The more the adsorption, the firmer the solidification effect and the better anti-emulsion effect. The paper also discusses the anti-milking mechanism of SD-1 in acid formation.
