该文提出了一种单片机控制的快速晶体型偏振模色散模拟器,它由两个Faraday偏振旋转器和一个群时延差(differentialgroupdelay,DGD)发生器组合而成。其中Faraday旋转器偏振旋转角度可在180°内连续变化,DGD发生器可通过编程使输出符合需要的分布。此模拟器既可输出DGD分立值或符合一定统计分布的序列值,偏振方向也可以随机变化。实验证明,该器件响应时间小于1ms,输出重复性好,测量结果与理论值较为符合。
This paper presents a fast single-chip controlled-mode Polarization Mode Dispersion Simulator, which consists of a combination of two Faraday polarization rotators and a differential group delay (DGD) generator. One Faraday rotator polarization rotation angle can be continuously changed within 180 °, DGD generator can be programmed to make the output to meet the needs of the distribution. This simulator can output discrete values of DGD or sequence values consistent with a certain statistical distribution, and the polarization direction can also change randomly. Experiments show that the device response time is less than 1ms, the output repeatability, the measured results and the theoretical value is more consistent.
