Architecture, as the city’s basic material monomer, has long been classified as a category of technical art and has nothing to do with social ideology. Today, however, our social life is increasingly dependent on the living environment and urban culture, architecture Teachers and urban planners also have a say in influencing public opinion and regulating the public life. Biennale art events like this will naturally not ignore the architecture and the city as a single issue exists in its own system. Under this premise, the Biennial of Architecture emerged as a public topic dealing with cultural and political economy while discussing urban development. In September 2012, the first Chengdu Architecture Biennale was held for the first time to discuss and display the architecture, city and life as the general public. The author tries to summarize some common international approaches from the five dimensions of initiator, speaking field, timeline, theme and form, and at the same time proposes ways to apply to the architectural biennial in Chengdu.
