日本侵华严重摧残了中国的高等教育。高等院校根据战局的发展而适时西迁 ,却使历尽劫难的高等教育得到恢复和一定发展。抗战时期大批的高校师生 ,在十分险恶的环境和极端困难的条件下 ,怀着救国救民的理念 ,坚定抗战必胜的信心 ,继承奋发自强的传统 ,艰辛辗转 ,长途跋涉 ,战胜困难 ,奋力开拓 ,使我国高等教育在战火的严重侵扰下仍弦歌不断 ,并创造了辉煌的教育业绩 ,培养了杰出的科学人才 ,改变了西部的落后面貌 ,在中国西部写下了教育史上的卓著篇章 Japan’s invasion of China severely damaged China’s higher education.
