在英汉互译过程中,译者既要具备较高的英语水平,又要具备扎实的中文功底。然而,许多高校的英语翻译专业的课程设置以英文课程为主、中文课程为次。本论文以华中某高校为例,对英语翻译专业的学生能力与课程设置进行了调查,调查表明学生在汉译英时理解汉语原文存在偏差;而在英译汉时中文表达存在翻译腔。该现象与中文课程偏少有直接关系。因此,本论文着重讨论在英翻专业本科阶段开设汉语课程的具体措施和作用,以期汉语课程能得到更多重视。
In the process of mutual translation between English and Chinese, the translator should not only have a good command of English, but also have a solid knowledge of Chinese. However, many English majors in English translation programs mainly include English courses and Chinese courses. Taking a university in Huazhong as an example, the dissertation investigates the students’ ability and curriculum in English translation major. The survey shows that students have some discrepancies in understanding the original Chinese texts while translating English into Chinese. This phenomenon has a direct relationship with the Chinese curriculum. Therefore, this dissertation focuses on the specific measures and functions of opening Chinese courses in English majors so as to give more attention to Chinese courses.
