Conventional wisdom holds that the central nervous system (CNS) is an immune privileged site.CNS and the immune system are anatomically isolated,with antigens hidden from immune cells.CNS injury can damage the blood-brain barrier,causing CNS antigens to drain into adjacent lymph nodes,activating corresponding immune cells.
