简·里斯的获奖作品《藻海无边》被认为是经典名著《简·爱》的姐妹篇。作者在对原著进行解构的同时,从一个全新的视角重新刻画并塑造了“疯女人”——伯莎·梅森(原名安托瓦内特)的形象,并将故事的主要背景设置在20世纪英属殖民地的西印度群岛国家,在探讨女性问题的同时对帝国主义进行了批判,为该部作品赋予了深刻的社会意义与现实意义。本文将以后现代主义文艺理论为理论依据就该作品中的女主人公身份问题进行分析,论证权力话语在身份的构建中所发挥的重要作用。
Jane Rees’s winning entry, “The Sea of Algae,” is considered a sibling of the classic “Jane Eyre”. While deconstructing the original works, the author redefines and shapes the image of “Mad Woman” - Bertha Mason (formerly Antoinette) from a completely new perspective and sets the main background of the story at The 20th century British colonial West Indies countries criticized imperialism while discussing the issue of women, giving the Ministry a profound social and practical significance. This article will be based on modernist theory of literature and art as a theoretical basis for the analysis of the identity of the heroine in the work to demonstrate the power of discourse in the identity of the construction of the important role.
