The development of the US pesticide market in 1992 was rather disappointing. In early 1999, the BNP Safety Group had predicted that the sales growth rate for certain types of chemicals could be as high as 20%. Some factors, such as the potential for larger cropping areas and the increase in crop prices due to low inventory and high sales (especially supply exports), point to increased production and expanded demand for agrochemicals.
