There is always a hidden story behind the soul-stirring stuff, but how can the stimuli be presented using images alone? Taran Simon’s photography and Brian de Palma’s films all use images to inspire suspense, visually Isolated from each other, all unrelated, but in an instant to make some suspense beyond the description of the narrative. The two produced a series of photos at the end of De Palmer’s 2007 film “Revised Editing,” then the group became a work of art. The artist and director took us to Simon’s recent work “The Death of the Living and Other 1-18” on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, as well as the new film "
