Objective To investigate the effect of dust on workers’ blood lipid level in high altitude area. Methods A total of 392 dust workers from a mining company located at 3700 m above sea level were selected as the observation subjects to measure the level of blood lipids. Cholesterol (TC) and triglyceride (TG) were determined by CHOD-PAP, HDL-C by PTA magnesium-ion precipitation, and health statistic analysis by chi-square test. Results The increase of serum lipids in dust-exposed workers increased with the increase of working age, but the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion Dust operation in high altitude area has significant effect on blood lipid level of practitioners.
