针对接入传送网通信协议的多样性和快速变化的应用需求,将网络处理单元(NPU)的设计理念引入到接入传送网集成电路设计中,提出了基于精简指令集处理器(RISC)结构的自定义接入网协议处理器。通过建立在专用扩展指令集基础上的软件来实现控制类的接入协议。该方法可以在相同的硬件条件下,通过改写软件来完成不同协议的处理,提高了设计的灵活性和可升级性。现场可编程门阵列(FPGA)验证结果表明,该方案在综合面积、可编程性等方面比传统的专用集成电路(ASIC)实现方式都要优越。
In view of the diversity and fast changing application requirements of access transport network protocol, this paper introduces the design concept of network processing unit (NPU) into the design of access transport network integrated circuit (ICS), and proposes a RISC architecture based on Reduced Instruction Set Processor Custom Access Protocol Processor. Through the establishment of a dedicated extension of the instruction set based on the software to achieve the control class access protocol. The method can process different protocols by rewriting the software under the same hardware condition, which improves the flexibility and scalability of the design. Field programmable gate array (FPGA) verification results show that the scheme is superior to traditional ASIC implementation in terms of overall area and programmability.
