From the existing works, the prostitutes poems and the women’s crown poems are the most abundant and the most mature in the creation of female poets in the Tang Dynasty, but there are obvious artistic differences between the two. Prostitute poetry has a strong style of entertainment, the lack of distinctive lyric image of individuality; women’s crown poetry is less responsive, full of distinctive lyric image, artistic connotation more in-depth, representing the best level of the poet in the Tang Dynasty. This paper analyzes the causes of the artistic differences between prostitutes’ poems and those of crown poems from the perspectives of their identities and social situations. It concludes that in the society of the Tang Dynasty, with their unique religious identities, the women’s crowns are associated with prostitutes in terms of behavior and social interaction There is a big difference, thus offering a different view on the traditional views of prostitutes in the Tang Dynasty.
