Stomatology has been more widely used nickel-containing non-precious metal alloys. Some non-dental industrial applications, the environment, and the potential for carcinogenicity of nickel and nickel compounds in the air have raised the issue of the biological safety of the widespread use of nickel-based alloys in dentistry.
