Objective To investigate the risk factors of Brucellosis infection in non-pastoral areas. Methods A 1: 3 matched case-control study was conducted to investigate the relationship among 30 infected persons and 90 non-infected persons by age, sex and village population in 2008. The survey mainly focused on the ways of contact with livestock and their products, The conditional logistic regression method was used to analyze the data. Results Multivariate analysis showed that combed cashmere, occasional lambs, stream products and calves were the major risk factors for brucellosis. Conclusions Combing cashmere, lamb holding, handling flow products and receiving calves are important risk factors for Brucellosis infection in the area.
