At the beginning of the study of the radiation effects of tumors, it was discovered that the sensitivity of various tumor cells to radiation was significantly different. Therefore, the effect of radiation therapy was not the same. The surviving fraction (SF) of an in vitro cultured cell line can be varied from 0.01 to 0.90 after exposure to 2 Gy (SF2), even for different cell lines of the same tumor.
