Livin is an important member of the inhibitor of apoptosis proteins (IAPs) family. It was found in 1993 that it is overexpressed or not expressed in normal tissues of adult humans. Livin inhibits its cascade activation mainly through its binding to Caspase And play a role in inhibiting apoptosis, thereby promoting cell survival and proliferation. The expression of Livin is tissue-specific, it is overexpressed in embryonic and tumor tissues, rare in normal tissues. Because Livin plays an important role in the inhibition of apoptosis and abnormal proliferation of cells, and has different expression levels in lung tissues Livin’s research can further reveal the mechanism of its inhibition of apoptosis, but also can be used as a new target for the treatment of lung disease, provide more effective treatment for patients, and improve the quality of life of patients is of great significance.
