Chinese and English phrases have macroscopic and microscopic differences and similarities in many aspects such as thinking mode, means of expression, images, allusions, figures of speech, and perspectives. On the one hand, the translator has the psychology of “convergence”, that is, seeking the boundless translation between the target language and the source language in terms of meaning, style, color, image and even phonology. On the other hand, As well as the image of high similarity, often will have “avoid ” psychology, to avoid the suspected Chinglish and cultural misunderstanding. “To avoid ” excessive are very dangerous, the translator should balance “to avoid awareness ”. Therefore, this paper proposes six strategies for translating Chinese and English phrases: perspective conversion, scene rendering, image replacement, imitation, allusions and inspiration creation.
