This article describes the design and implementation details of a scoreboard module that can be embedded in microprocessors as a system-on-chip. A method of designing a SCOREBOARD module in a 64-bit superscalar microprocessor is proposed, which implements the out-of-order issue order execution and meets the design requirements of the X-microprocessor chip. Described in the design using Verilog HDL language and implemented in FPGA, the chip is implemented in a 0.18 micron CMOS process.
