人们预见,单模光缆因其独特的传输特性将被用于大容量长途通信系统。为了充分利用单模光缆这一优良传输特性,光纤之间的接头必须是低损耗、高强度的。为此研制出具有纤芯轴向自动对中功能和光纤端面间隙调节简易的单模光纤接头机。使用该接头机,能够获得拼接损耗低(平均拼接损耗为0.1dB/接头)、拼接时间也短(平均拼接时间为17分钟)的拼接技术,这就满足了相应的要求。
It is foreseen that single-mode fiber optic cable will be used for large-capacity long-distance communication system due to its unique transmission characteristics. In order to take full advantage of the excellent transmission characteristics of single mode optical fiber, the joints between the optical fibers must be low loss, high strength. For this reason, a single-mode optical fiber connector has been developed which has the functions of axial alignment of the core and automatic adjustment of the optical fiber end gap. Using this splicer, splicing techniques with low splice loss (average splicing loss of 0.1 dB per splicer) and splicing time (average splicing time of 17 minutes) can be obtained, which meets the corresponding requirements.
