Long Yongtu, vice minister of foreign trade and economic cooperation, said that there are four major opportunities for China after joining the WTO: one is to create a favorable international environment for China’s reform and opening up and economic construction; the other is conducive to accelerating domestic industrial restructuring and enhancing the competition for Chinese enterprises Thirdly, to improve China’s international status and participate in the formulation of new international trade regulations; fourthly, to help China participate in economic globalization.
