OBJECTIVE: To report 61 cases of pediatric femoral shaft fractures with varying degrees of angulation, shortening and rotational deformity during early healing. And to discuss the relationship between the recovery of children and the natural ability to shape. Methods: Fracture repair using traction reduction plus small splint or plaster external fixation. Results: In this group of patients, especially in infants and toddlers, it was found that although the early fracture healing did not reach the standard of rehabilitation generally accepted by children with femoral shaft fractures, especially rotational deformity, anatomical reduction and Function recovery. CONCLUSIONS: The standard of revision of children’s femoral shaft fractures should be different with different ages. The younger the patients, the stronger their self-shaping ability is and the lower the standard of treatment. Therefore, the standard of rehabilitation for different age groups is proposed.
