液压油在使用过程中由于受机械、物理和化学的作用,其性能逐渐劣化。当油液主要性能劣化到对系统有危害的程度时,必须更换。油液性能劣化与油液污染有直接的关系,油液中的水、空气、固体颗粒以及热能是引起添加剂耗损、失效和基础油氧化的根本原因,而油液中的金属微粒对油液氧化会起催化剂作用,加速油液的劣化。液压油性能劣化的主要表现及原因如表1所示。
