根据美国比较文学学会(ACLA)的网站(http://www.acla.org/)消息,美国南卡罗来纳大学自2011年7月1日起成为美国比较文学学会的新依托单位(new home),曾在哈佛大学和耶鲁大学求学任教的Alexander Beecroft担任美国比较文学学会秘书长,任期5年。Alexander Beecroft现任教于南卡罗来纳大学语言、文学与文化系,为比较文学学科负责人,目前正在紧锣密鼓筹备2014年美国南方比较文学学会年会,这届年会的主题是:跨越东西方的古典与现代。网站消息称,随着美国比协新依托单位转至南卡罗来纳大学和新任秘书长人选的确认,美国比较文学研究的中心已明显南移。
According to the ACLA website (http://www.acla.org/), the University of South Carolina has been the new home of the American Society of Comparative Literature since July 1, 2011, Alexander Beecroft, former Harvard and Yale university faculty, served as secretary general of the American Society of Comparative Literature for a five-year term. Alexander Beecroft, currently teaching at the Department of Language, Literature and Culture at the University of South Carolina, is the head of comparative literature and is currently in full swing to prepare for the 2014 Annual Meeting of the South American Society of Comparative Literature. The theme of this Annual Meeting is: Classical and modern. According to website sources, as the United States confirms the move to the University of South Carolina and the new secretary-general by the newly relied unit, the center of comparative literature in the United States has moved significantly southwards.
