城市绿化树木是城市森林生态系统的子系统,由于其显著的环境效能和生态效益而引起社会各界的普遍关注,国内外专家学者纷纷对如何构建城市绿地系统进行探索,从生物学、群落学、生态学、美学特性等多角度去探讨乔、灌、草的选择、配置和结构等,目的是建成结构复杂、层次分明、功能完善、景观优美的生态群落,但由于缺乏对绿化树木滞尘能力即净化环境的能力及叶片蒙尘对光合特性影响的研究,加之过分追求见效快、绿化率高等指标,从而造成在绿化树种的选择和配置上都存在一些问题,如树种单一、配置不合理、环境效能低等。基于大气污染中粉尘的危害性,人们开始对如何抑制大气粉尘污染这一问题的解决方法进行研究,其中植物滞尘作用研究就是其中一个研究领域。
