蓑草是多年生禾本科草本纤维植物,喜光喜温,对温度适应范围较大。春天日均气温大于5℃时开始萌生,7～9℃开始出土发育,10～14℃是它的适宜温度。冬天,气温低于5℃以下时停止生长,可基本利用全年的光温创产值。蓑草对酸碱度的适应范围较大,PH 值在5.5～9.1之间可正常生长,蓑草浅层水平根系发达,对土层厚度要求不甚严格,土层厚度为0.5米最佳。蓑草叶面具有旱生植物结构,发达的根系能充分吸收土壤
