歷來對晏殊其人其作存在著偏見,‘太平宰相’、‘富貴顯達’、‘富貴優遊’、‘生活優裕’、‘及時行樂’、‘無病呻吟’、‘空虚落寞’等詞語充斥于有關晏殊及其作品的評論之中。晏殊詞集裹,確實有不少花間尊前、流連光景之作,但也有不少作品有著作者深刻的情感體驗,如其名作《浣溪沙》(‘一曲新詞酒一杯’)一闋,很明顯是‘抒懷人之情’,而且很可能是生離死别之情。但學界對晏殊其人以及《浣溪沙》一詞的不少解讀,摻雜了許多帶有偏見的主觀評判,與此詞的實際情況並不符合。事實上,晏殊‘奉養清儉’、‘奉養極約’、‘雖處富貴如寒士’;其作品的‘富貴氣’也是時代風尚;而至少在兩宋之世,‘明哲保身’乃是士大夫信守的重要處世準則。
