Objective To understand the characteristics of blood lipid, blood glucose and abnormal distribution of faculty in colleges and universities, and provide a reasonable basis for the targeted prevention and control of chronic diseases in colleges and universities. Methods The physical examination data of 1 454 active staff members who participated in a physical examination in a university in Hangzhou in 2010 were statistically analyzed. Results The overall detection rate of hyperlipidemia was 47.7%, and the detection rates of male and female were 59.1% and 33.5%, respectively (χ2 = 95.67, P <0.05). The overall detection rate of hyperglycemia was 7.0 %, The detection rate of male and female were 10.0% and 4.2%, respectively, the difference was statistically significant (χ2 = 19.33, P <0.05). Conclusions The detection rate of hyperlipidemia and hyperglycemia is related to gender and age.
