中越边境贸易源远流长。1979年自卫反击战以后,边关封闭,两国边民互不来往。1983年以后,各县边防工委在一些山麓峡谷开设贸易点,吸引越方边民入境,以物换物,进行交易。这个情况一直延续到1988年。1989年初,中越关系开始缓和,边境管理也随之放松,越方边民乘机成批地涌入我境,或探亲访友,或交易物品。因越商带进来的货物品种比较多,需求量也很大,对我国商户产生了吸引力。一时间,区内外的各种商户闻风而来,云集边境
