The development of gear vibration analysis provides a new and effective method of monitoring gear conditions. Complex vibration waveforms generated by mechanical vibration elements such as gears, bearings and shafts have a wide range of amplitudes and frequencies (0.2 to 80,000 Hz). An unacceptable mechanical component or condition often contributes to the abnormality of these waveforms. Vibration analysis separates abnormal components from normal vibration to detect unacceptable machine conditions.
