Objective To investigate the incidence of peripheral neuropathy in patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus and the effect of short-term application of insulin-enhanced hypoglycemic therapy on the recovery of nerve injury. Methods 200 patients with newly diagnosed diabetic patients with symptoms such as numbness, pain and other sensory abnormalities combined with electromyography / evoked potentials measured median nerve, ulnar nerve, common peroneal nerve, tibial nerve nerve conduction velocity assessment of the incidence of peripheral neuropathy And their impaired recovery of nerve conduction following short-term insulin-intensive hypoglycemic therapy. Results The symptoms disappeared 33.3% after hypoglycemic treatment, and the NCV was normal 28.57%. Before and after hypoglycemic treatment, there was a significant difference in the motor conduction velocity (MNCV) and sensory conduction velocity (SNCV) of the tibial nerve. Conclusions Positive glycemic control and insulin therapy have significant effects on early diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
