Li Daoyu Meets Anna Chennault
China International Public Relations Association(CIPRA)President Li Daoyu met Anna Chennault, Chair of theU.S.-based Council for International Cooperation (CIC), inBeijing on May 18. Li, a former Chinese ambassador to theUnited States, had a friendly conversation with Chennault,during which they recalled the days they spent together.Chennault said the CIC, a nonprofit organization that helpspromote development in China, would join hands with theCIPRA to make greater contributions to the sound develop-ment of Sino-U.S. relations. Anna Chennault is well knownin China as the widow of World War II aviation hero Lieuten-ant General Claire Lee Chennault. The American militaryaviator commanded the "Flying Tigers" fighting against Japa-nese air forces in west China and Southeast Asia in the early1940s.
