Objective To study the expression of human leukocyte antigen-I (HLA-I) in breast cancer and its clinical significance. Methods Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of HLA-I in breast cancer from 271 breast cancer patients. The relationship between the expression of HLA-I and the clinicopathological features and prognosis of breast cancer was analyzed. Results HLA-I was strongly expressed in 92 (33.9%) of breast cancer tissues and 179 (66.1%) in 271 patients. The expression of HLA-I in breast cancer tissues was significantly lower than that in axillary lymph nodes Metastasis, TNM stage, other lymph node metastasis and vascular invasion (P <0.05). The disease-free survival rate of HLA-I positive patients was significantly higher than that of HLA-I down-regulated (P <0.05). Conclusion Detecting the expression of HLA-I in breast cancer tissue is of great significance for predicting the progress of tumor and its prognosis.
