The Klukwan iron deposit in the Alameda state of California has more than 1 billion tons of sand and probably 1 billion tons of virgin hard rock. Ore for the magnet taconite, titanium is higher. After the end of last century that this deposit is a titanium magnetite deposit. By the 1970s, the deposit was controlled by US Steel Co. and was later controlled by a U.S. subsidiary of Japan’s Mitsubishi Corporation. US Steel has completed a large number of geological exploration work. After Mitsubishi took over, the deposit was continuously explored, with little difference between the results of the exploration and those of the United States. Later, Mitsubishi commissioned Kaiser Co. to complete a series of design studies for the development of the deposit. This article describes in detail the relevant research results. Including mining, mineral processing, pellets, electricity, urban and living facilities, environmental protection and other aspects of program comparison and design decisions. Mainly for economic reasons, Mitsubishi has so far decided not to invest in construction, so that the project is still in the design assessment stage.
