Despite agriculture being historicallylargely neglected across Africa and lackof investment hampering agriculturaldevelopment across the continent,that trend is changing. Zhann Meyer,regional head of Commodity Tradersand Agriculture, Africa, Standard CharteredBank, believes that opportunitiesto invest in agribusiness in Africa arebeginning to attract increasing internationalinterest, most notably from Asia,and China in particular.
