本文讨论了玄武岩土壤尤其是变性土的性质与小麦所需土壤条件的关系。由于变性土具有自我覆盖(self—mulching)能力,故可能无需耕作就直接用来种植小麦了。不待谷物成熟就收获会造成资源衰竭,但如果在野生小麦自然生长的地带播种,就能使资源得到更为有效的保存;不过,如果播种地区是地上水或洪水泛滥与冬季生长时期不相协调的地带,结果就会所得甚微,我们依然认为,适于种植谷物的土壤过去可能更为普遍;在更新世晚期气候发生变化的情况下,某些土壤具有更为优良的性质,因此,就这一时期的农业发展情况而言,“土壤因素决定论”应该是合适的。
This paper discusses the relationship between the properties of basalts, especially denuded soils, and the soil conditions required for wheat. Since denudated soil has self-mulching capacity, it is possible to grow wheat directly without tillage. Harvesting without cereal maturation can result in resource depletion, but resources can be conserved more effectively if they are sown in the naturally growing areas of the wild wheat; however, if the areas being planted are groundwater or flooding is incompatible with the winter growing season We would still expect that soils suitable for growing cereals may have been more prevalent in the past.
