The radar chart is a commonly used method of multivariate charts, which project the index status of the evaluation object onto a two-dimensional plane, hence its name because of its similarity to the image on the navigation radar screen. Radar charts have been widely used in companies Performance, financial statements, human resources and risk assessment, but it is less used in geosciences and almost blank in petrology, geochemistry, mineralogy, tectonics, geophysics, etc. This paper attempts to explore The radar chart is applied to the discrimination of basaltic tectonic setting, ophiolite identification, A-type granite identification, ore-bearing rock mass and non-ore-bearing rock mass identification, mineralization source area tracing, clastic sedimentary rock tectonic environment discrimination, hydrothermal sedimentation Identification of trace elements in the source area of clay minerals in the river, trace elements in sediments of the South Yellow Sea and comparison of shale mineral assemblages, etc. The results show that the radar chart has a wide range of applications in the field of geosciences, It is expressed in a way that is more in line with the disciplines of geosciences and can represent not only geochemical data but also other petrology, Science, tectonics and other aspects of the elements; and the elements can be different, may be required; each axis of measurement can be flexibly selected, either qualitative or continuous data of course, the radar chart Nor is it omnipotent, there are some limitations, it is just a method, the purpose is to facilitate observation, problem solving.
