Objective To investigate the correlation between preoperative anxiety and social support in radiofrequency ablation patients and to propose health interventions. Methods A total of 120 patients who underwent radiofrequency catheter ablation in the Department of Cardiology between September and November 2014 were enrolled. Preoperative investigation was conducted using anxiety self-rating scale and social support rating scale. The general data of patients were collected, and the anxiety standard scores and social support scores were compared with the domestic norm to conduct t test, anxiety status and social support for Pearson correlation analysis. Results The standard of anxiety before radiofrequency ablation was (46.33 ± 9.67) points, which was significantly different from that of the national norm (t = 18.700, P <0.05). The score of social support was (39.80 ± 7.59) There was also a statistically significant difference in norm (t = 7.287, P <0.05). The correlation coefficient of preoperative anxiety and social support was -0.377, which was negatively correlated. Conclusions Patients with radiofrequency catheter ablation have varying degrees of anxiety before the operation. Social support is one of the most important influencing factors of anxiety and psychosocial anxiety. Strengthening social support helps to relieve preoperative anxiety.
