A comparative study of newly industrialized countries (NICs) in East Asia and Latin America has been attempting to explain the relatively prominent industrial performance of East Asian countries by examining their macroeconomic indicators and economic policies. This article explores this issue by examining a specific industrial-automotive industry. The final conclusion is that for the automobile industry, we can not simply compare the two regions of East Asia and Latin America in terms of dichotomy. There is no clear basis of division between them, as we often think, but “the economic development of countries Analysis ”still helps to understand the differences in industrial performance among various countries. 1 Introduction In recent years, the newly developed industrialized economies in East Asia have enjoyed rapid economic growth and what their strategic strategic development experiences mean and aroused people’s arguments. At the same time, it led to a discussion on the role of industrial policies in developing countries.
