On the occasion of the 30th anniversary celebration of Beijing Urban Planning Design & Research Institute, the special editor plans to issue this special issue - “thirty years of thirty talks ”. We endeavor to display and explore the theory and practice of urban and rural planning in Beijing over the past three decades with profound thought, excellent writing and beautiful images in order to show its fame. This special issue takes China’s urbanization as its background, clues to the development of the 30th year after the establishment of the North Yard, takes the major events as its main line and its problem-oriented approach.
