In the history of Chinese literature in the twentieth century, women writers mostly focused on love, marriage and family. From Bingxin in the May 4th Movement, Lu Yin to Su Qing and Zhang Ailing in the 1940s to Zhang Jie, Zhang Xinxin and Wang Anyi in the 1980s, and then to the female writers and post-1970s writers who emerged in the 1990s.
