中国现代话剧作为20世纪中国文学不可缺少的一部分,在历史进入21世纪的今天却开始逐渐远离了公众的视野。从20世纪三四十年代的重彩纷呈到新时期戏剧的单一主题,再到80年代实验话剧逐步走上舞台和新现实主义的提出,时至今日仍有人戏言:现代话剧只存在于评奖之中,而不是真实生活之中。要使话剧重回大众视野,戏剧就必须心系民间。
