Taking hot-mold steel as the research object, the effect of alloying element molybdenum content on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the mold steel was analyzed. The results show that when the content of molybdenum is 3.2%, there are two parts of the hot-die steel wear surface, such as spalling and non-spalling. There is a large amount of oxide in the flaking area of the wear surface, and the molybdenum content and tempering temperature in the hot-mold steel have a significant impact on the wear rate. When the tempering temperature is low, the content of molybdenum in the alloy element affects the hardness of the hot-die steel more obviously. When the tempering temperature is higher, the content of molybdenum in the alloy has less effect on the hardness of the hot-die steel.
